T-shirt website and community Design By Humans are hosting a competition alongside graphic design tablet company Wacom. Design by humans are “an ongoing t-shirt design competition and community where artists and t-shirt lovers can create, buy, and talk about art and t-shirts.” The website sells and promotes unique and creative t-shirt designs, and acts as an online community with a passion for designing and celebrating the graphic t-shirt art. A daily new design is chosen from the variety of creative submissions, and the Shirt of the Day designs are discounted at 25% off, for the first 24 hours.

The competition with Wacom is called ‘See What You Can Do’ and is described as “an intense head to head design contest.” A real creative challenge, each designer is given a category with just 60 minutes to design and submit their creation. Once the start button is selected a category is given and competitors have 60 minutes to complete a design; the design should represent the category, and be submitted as a .jpg or .png before the 60 minute timer runs out.

The tournament will begin with 32 designers, and works with a public vote system from the Design by Humans online community to decide the winner of each round. For each week a new category will be presented and another 60 minute design head to head contest will begin. Of the four rounds, each week the winner from each round will move on until the grand prize is awarded. Submissions to be part of the 32 designers taking part will be accepted from August 10th, 2012. The tournament will then run through September with a winner announced in October.Wacom1.jpg

The nature of the competition means designers are forced to showcase their skills within a defined time frame. The design process is of real interest to the contestants, Design by Humans and Wacom, and as such designers also have the opportunity to win $100 for submitting a video while undertaking the design.

The prizes include new Wacom Tablets in addition to cash and are as follows:
