Interactive Designer

As a member of the Device UX team, you will be a part of bringing next generation devices and user interfaces to market. This position will include designing and assessing interfaces for new phones, tablets and connected devices. In particular, this team member will support the UX group in the following capacities:

Design, prototype, and specify mobile device user interfaces.
Author UI requirements and administer test plans for those requirements.
Achieve team consensus and executive buy-in on your proposed designs.
Manage external design teams, as needed.
Work closely with Verizon Wireless partners to deliver new devices to market.
Primary Responsibilities

Requirements and Design

Design next generation device experiences by developing UI flows, prototypes, and written requirements.
Maintain existing requirements based on market trends and change requests.
Leverage application lifecycle software for storing and distributing requirements to OEMs
Compliance Testing

Evaluate OEM compliance to requirements.
Evaluate usability of devices and services created by OEMs.
Generate New Concepts

Prototype and evaluate new UI concepts.
Deliver these concepts to OEMs as UI guidance.



1+ years Experience designing and testing mobile device user interfaces.
1+ years Experience with user interface prototyping and design tools.
1+ years Experience converting UI designs into written requirements and guidance.
Experience with Android, iOS, RIM, and Windows mobile operating systems.
Additional experience in one of the following areas will be considered a plus:

Usability Testing: Experience performing lab based usability tests.
Mobile Application Development: Experience developing and publishing applications.
Graphic Design: Experience producing pixel perfect assets for mobile applications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong skills in wireframing and prototyping tools
Strong foundation in experimental, data-driven design.
Ability to clearly communicate ideas, decisions, and reasoning to a broad audience.
Must be organized, have excellent project management skills, and be a self starter.

Bachelors' degree in User Interface Design (UID), User Experience Design (UXD), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS) or a related field.
Advanced degree preferred.
